My practice as a counselor spans more than 40 years and the invitation is always open for face to face conversations with people who feel a need or desire to share a part of their life story with me. There are aspects of the stories we have that illustrate the transition between where we’ve been and where we are going. That transition can be challenging because most of us don’t know what to let be—or how to let go—so that we can move on.
I’ve had the best of mentorship from brilliant and caring teachers and guides. As an educator and therapist, I’ve counseled and mentored thousands of people over the years. I know I’ve helped open doors and prompted new beginnings. In 1988, I co-authored a book that helped people understand that grieving a loss is an individual and unique process.
And yet, even with all that experience, I knew I was missing something important.
For this reason, In 2009, I embarked on a a six-year “sabbatical” and put my licenses on inactive status. I devoted myself to my own health and wellness program and I traveled every year to study and participate in a spiritist center in Brazil. I took up residency in that small rural town, and in 2012, I was given a “health opportunity” to face my sense of self and was told that above all, I was to learn to love myself. In 2014, I agreed to make a video telling my story. “Opening to Love” is the title of my short talk.
I am currently compiling my writings, including a new found love for poetry.
Appointments for counseling, guidance and crystal bed sessions are always welcomed.

“We are creating a space where we can come together as a community to support each other in non-judgmental self-reflection to be each other’s mirrors. By being honest together, we take the fear and judgment out of our own actions and are able to see the valid and beautiful origin of our own behavior, however maladaptive. Helping each other break down the barriers of resistance and fear, clearing the path to allow grounded hope and embrace our childlike curiosity, joy, and creativity – a new way of being together in the world.”
Licensed Massage Therapist
Somatic Experiencing Practitioner
Certified Clinical Herbalist
My passion is guiding people toward deeper connection with their bodies. By becoming more aware of the language of our bodies, we can let go of deeply rooted patterns that may be unhealthy. We can also connect more deeply with each other and with the natural world around us- leading to increased capacity for joy and fulfillment.
At the White Stone Center, I offer sessions in Somatic Experiencing, which unlocks stress directly from the nervous system. These sessions are available on a sliding scale for those in need. I also offer Deep Tissue Massage and Neuro-muscular Therapy, as well as herbal consultations and nature awareness mentoring. I serve clients of all ages, with symptoms including but not limited to:
- traumatic stress
- chronic pain
- auto-immune disorders
- grief and loss
I also collaborate frequently with other White Stone healers offering educational workshops in the community.
“We are holding a space where it is safe to look into yourself and explore everything you find, with curiosity and wonder. Be honest, open, loving and kind as you get to know yourself and accept yourself at a level you’ve never imagined possible. We are leaning on each other’s strengths and wisdom to support our own openings. We recognize our own resistance to letting go and connecting, and we are connecting anyway. We seek the beauty and freedom of connection as whole, beautiful, vibrant individuals, even when it scares us.”
Traveling LIGHT Programs
There comes a time in life when what has been is no longer what can be.
Sometimes these moments show up in times of big transition or loss, and sometimes the pot simply boils over one day, and the old life you were living just has to change. It can be a moment of: I don’t know what I want, all I know is NOT THIS. NO MORE.
It’s a time of radical identity shift. You are being asked to expand the existing version of yourself, and become something new. You are being asked to choose what you will take with you, and what you will let go of. It’s a huge, scary, exciting, terrifying, exhilarating opportunity, if you can support yourself and receive the support you need to take it.
I offer appreciation-based coaching & deep healing support through those times of major transition.
I specialize in helping women develop the confidence, willingness and courage to let go of old boxes, and be who they really are. I help women who feel like their worlds have been shrinking, either through illness, trauma or simply a lifetime of tiny, culturally conditioned choices to not speak up and be honest and authentic.
What if it’s not your world that is shrinking, but you, inside it, who is ready to grow?
Together, we can release the fear and anxiety so you become willing and able to take chances and try new things. Using cutting edge neurological and energetic tools, we will open space in your system so you can let go of what you are ready to move past, with love, and expand into the life you are ready to embrace.
Your life will change beautifully and organically as you begin to live in this newly aware and empowered way.
I live part-time in Hamilton, part-time in Springdale, Utah, and do most of my work over the phone or Skype.
Please visit my website or email me and we can set up a time to talk about what’s possible.
Appreciation-based coaching, NeuroLinguistic Programming, hypnosis and energy work focused on deep release and re-setting for mind, body and spirit.
We are gathering together to co-create a generative community in which our individuality is sacred. We are practicing this for our mutual benefit in order to model and mentor this way of interaction with and for others.
….helping and supporting others to show up as well.
I am working to help us all show up and feel heard, seen and valued.
In addition to my work around the community as a facilitator of important conversations, I am a practitioner with Young Living Essential Oils.
I blog my thoughts and inspirations at this site.
Thanks for being here!!
Experience and perception are unique to each individual. Our emotions are a common thread that run through us all and the ability to understand and work with them is called emotional intelligence. It is critical to well-being and it can be learned.
Although life is a wondrous gift, it includes many challenges that at times, feel overwhelming. When distress is not resolved, the flow of electro-magnetic currents, within and around the body become disrupted. These are subtle energy disruptions that effect the body’s structural, cardiovascular and neuro-muscular systems. The White Stone Center offers a variety of “complimentary medicine” ways that experience has taught us, facilitate the restoration of balance of our mind, hearts, bodies and souls.
This alignment strengthens our willpower, energizes our bodies, sparks our creativity and restores joy.
It puts a smile on my face to think of getting to work with and through the White Stone Center. Oh how we need community.
Darlene “D” Golas, MSW
I specialized in the treatment of trauma, anxiety and in assisting couples experiencing relationship difficulty, and I am passionate about teaching people simple ways to heal themselves and their relationships.
Oriental Medicine offers many effective, self-care, tools and techniques to heal physical and emotional injuries and imbalances. Our human body’s electrical energy reflects its state of health or imbalance. I specialize in three different modalities: Applied Kinesiology (AK), “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing” (EMDR) and “Emotional Freedom Technique.” (EFT)
In AK, this innate intelligence of the body is made accessible to us through the simple technique of muscle testing. AK is also helpful in resolving pet joint restrictions. The use of EMDR is extremely effective in resolving post-traumatic symptoms. And EFT is a powerful tool to help folks cope, in times of difficulty. It diminishes distress in the body within minutes and can be easily learned.
I offer individual sessions, using and teaching these methods to assist in the healing of:
- Structural Malalignment (hips, spine, ribs and joints)
- Foot/Ankle Discomfort
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Hiatal Hernia
- Gastrointestinal problems
- Pet joint mobility issues
I recently retired from a 30 yr. career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Medicine Wheel Therapeutics, Inc. in Hamilton, MT. In 1984 I completed an apprenticeship in Applied Kinesiology with Jan Geeslin.
I have taught Applied Kinesiology Seminars since 1986 and will be offering hands on workshops at The White Stone Center in winter, 2018.
